Ryan Huo received his degree in music at the University of California, Santa
Cruz. Piano was the focus of his studies there. After seeing the lack of adequate music education in many public schools, he pursued a profession as a private piano instructor.
Ryan specializes in working with young, beginner and intermediate piano students, and is constantly surprised by the innate abilities that many of his students have in music making.
He maintains a large piano studio, teaching in Fremont, San Jose, and Santa
Cruz. As an active member of the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC), Ryan regularly attends various workshops, focusing on current pedagogy issues, uses of various piano methods, and studies in different learning styles.
The main goal of Ryan Huo Piano Studio is to provide a motivating environment suitable for the instruction and enjoyment of music. Lesson programs are designed to meet
the specific needs of each student. This includes a balance of ear training, music theory, sight-reading, technique refinement, memorization, music appreciation, and repertoire appropriate to the student's level of proficiency. Students will be encouraged to participate in programs designed to further these goals, such as recitals, competitions, group lessons, and adjudication through
MTAC.
